Art in Public Places 2007
Starkville Greater Partnerships Gallery:
"Gallery 200"

“Less than 100 for Less than 100”
The Starkville Area Arts Council’s Art in Public Places Committee is sponsoring an exhibit of local artists in the GSDP gallery. “Less than 100 for Less than 100” is open now through December 20th, with a public reception to be held on November 16 at 5:30pm.The exhibit includes works in various media; pottery, glass, ceramic sculpture, drawing, painting and photography. The subject matter for the works ranges from utilitarian pottery and children’s rhymes on glass, to landscape and still life paintings, to ceramic installation and improvised abstract drawings.
The exhibit is conceived as a fundraiser and holiday shopping opportunity, with “Less than 100 for Less than 100” referring to the number of artworks exhibited at or under the price of $100. This is a unique opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind artworks for Christmas or other gift needs or simply adding to a collection at a most affordable price. Artworks reserved for purchase during the exhibition or reception will be made available for pick up before Christmas on December 14th to allow time for wrapping, shipping or perhaps just a mystery under the tree.
You are invited to join the Starkville Area Arts Council in supporting our local artists November 16th at 5:30. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to meet the creators. For more information call Betty Jane Chatham at 662-323-3382.
